DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 933 begins approximately 1240 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 9‑T81N‑R28W and 800 feet west of the City of Perry and travels easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Perry, beginning again at the east corporation line of the City of Perry and travels southeasterly to a junction with Iowa 141 approximately ¼ mile east of the City of Perry.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number P‑933‑0 (2)‑‑30‑25 between the Iowa Department of Transportation, the City of Perry and Dallas County transferred Unsigned Iowa 933 to local jurisdiction on October 2, 1984. The official description of Unsigned Iowa 933 should be removed from the Primary Road System to reflect this change of jurisdiction.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve removing the description of Unsigned Iowa 933 from the Primary Road System.

Old Description ‑ Unsigned Iowa 933 in Dallas County described as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 1240 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 9‑T81N‑R28W; thence in an easterly direction through Section 9‑T81N‑R28W to the west corporation line of the City of Perry connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Perry, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 11‑T81N‑R28W to a point approximately 50 feet north and 460 feet west of the SE Corner of Section 11‑T81N‑R28W (east junction of Iowa 141).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 933 begins at a junction with Iowa 141 approximately ¼ mile west of the City of Perry and travels northerly and easterly to the west corporation line of the City of Perry with a spur from a point near the E ¼ Corner of the SE ¼ Section 8‑T81N‑R28W westerly approximately 350 feet, beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Perry southeasterly to a junction with Iowa 141 approximately ¼ mile east of the City of Perry.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑933‑0 (1)‑‑30‑25 between the Iowa Department of Transportation, the City of Perry and the Iowa Conservation Commission, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 933, from a point near the E ¼ Corner of the SE ¼ Section 8‑T81N‑R28W westerly approximately 350 feet, to the Iowa Conservation Commission on January 4, 1984. The present description of Unsigned Iowa 933 should be revised to reflect this change of jurisdiction. The remainder of Unsigned Iowa 933 remains unchanged.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended to approve deleting the present description of Unsigned Iowa 933 in Dallas County from the primary road system and approve including the attached new description of Unsigned Iowa 933 in the primary road system.

Beginning at a point approximately 1240 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 9‑T81N‑R28W; thence in an easterly direction through Section 9‑T81N‑R28W to the west corporation line of the City of Perry connecting with an unnamed street.

The new alignment of Iowa 141 in an area near Perry in Dallas County has created Unsigned Iowa 933 and should be officially included into the Primary Road System.

Unsigned Iowa 933 begins at the junction of Iowa 141 approximately ¼ mile southwest of Perry and travels northeasterly to Perry and begins again on the east edge of Perry and travels southeasterly to the junction of Iowa 141 approximately ½ mile southeast of Perry, Iowa.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Unsigned Iowa 933 in Dallas County as follows:

Beginning at a point approximately 390 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 9‑T81N‑R28W (west junction of Iowa 141); thence northerly following substantially the section line of Section 9‑T81N‑R28W to a point approximately 1240 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 9‑T81N‑R23W; thence in an easterly direction through Section 9‑T81N‑R28W to the west corporation line of the City of Perry connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning again on the east corporation line of the City of Perry, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a southeasterly direction through Section 11‑T81N‑R28W to a point approximately 50 feet north and 460 feet west of the SE Corner of Section 11‑T81N‑R28W (east junction of Iowa 141).

With a spur beginning at a point approximately 1240 feet north and 350 feet west of the SE Corner of Section 8‑T81N‑R28W; thence easterly through Section 8‑T81N‑R28W to a point approximately 1240 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 9‑T81N‑R28W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 933 in Dallas County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon the adoption of this resolution.
